What FaqFlo is

Built for business owners

A plain-English snapshot of where your site stands with AI today — what’s working, what isn’t, and what to fix. Act on it yourself, or hand it to whoever does your marketing.

The goal is simple: more customers in 2026.

No plugin. No agency. No new vocabulary.

Who is actually reading your site

The four crawlers

  • GPTBotOpenAIFetches pages for ChatGPT. Blocked in robots.txt on more sites than their owners realise.
  • ClaudeBotAnthropicFetches pages for Claude. Same rules, separate token — allowing one does not allow the other.
  • Google-ExtendedGoogleControls whether your content can be used in Gemini and AI Overviews, separately from normal search.
  • PerplexityBotPerplexityPerplexity leans hard on citations, which makes it the fastest place to see whether this is working.

None of them run JavaScript. If your answers only appear after a script runs, every one of these sees an empty page.

Why Q&A

Why answers, and not more marketing?

Because your customers aren’t browsing. They’re asking a machine — and that machine is looking for something short enough to quote and clear enough to trust.

01

They ask an assistant, not a search box

"Who does [service] in [city]?" There is no list of ten links to work through any more — there is one answer, and either you are in it or you are not.

02

The assistant needs something quotable

It is looking for a specific question with a short, factual answer attached. Marketing prose spread across a page gives it nothing it can lift.

03

A Q&A block or an article, same shape

Question first, answer underneath, on your own domain in plain HTML a crawler reads on the first request. A few lines on a service page or a whole article — the shape is the vehicle, not the point.

How long does setup take?

About two minutes. Add your questions, copy the one-line snippet, and paste it into your site — no developer needed.

Will this help me show up in ChatGPT?

That’s the idea. Assistants answer questions, so content already shaped as a question and a short answer is the easiest thing for them to pick up and cite.

Do I need to know how to code?

Nope. If you can paste a line of text into your site’s settings, you can install FaqFlo.

How it works

A loop, not a one-off

Five steps, and the last one starts the first one again.

  1. 01

    Audit

We fetch your site the way a crawler does and check whether your content is even readable — and whether robots.txt lets the AI engines in.

  2. 02

    Discover

The questions people actually put to AI about your category and your area, rather than the ones you assume they ask.

  3. 03

    Generate

Answer-first, factual, specific. Written to be lifted whole into an answer, with your name attached to it. Or turn any question into a full article in one click.

  4. 04

    Publish

You get clean HTML to paste into your own site. It lives on your domain, so the citation and the click go to you.

  5. 05

    Track

See what ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini say when asked your questions — who they cite, and who takes the click instead. What you are missed on goes back to step two.

  6. And then

Step five hands you the questions you aren’t being cited for. Those go straight back into step two, and around it goes.

What you paste into your site — plain HTML, no script, nothing to install:

your-page.html
<section class="faq"> <h2>Do you handle emergency repairs?</h2> <p>Yes — two crews on call, on site within 24 hours…</p> </section>

44 checks across your whole site, scored and sorted so the thing costing you the most sits at the top. Written in plain English, not audit-speak.

AI Mentions

Every question, every engine, side by side

Your questions down the left, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini across the top. Every cell says what that one actually did: cited you, named you without a link, or pointed somewhere else.

Answers written to be quoted, page by page

A question with a direct reply underneath — the shape assistants actually lift. Each page of your site gets its own set and its own block of code to paste.

The Competitors screen in FaqFlo — And who gets cited when it is not you

Competitors

And who gets cited when it is not you

Every website the engines pointed to, split between you, the rival businesses and the directories that soak up the rest. Each citation a rival takes is a question you could have answered.

What the heck is AEO?

  1. 1.

Answer Engine Optimisation. Shaping your content so AI assistants can find it, understand it, and quote it back to whoever asked.

  2. 2.

informal — making sure that when someone asks a robot about your line of work, your name is in the answer.

The old way

SEO

Climb a list of ten blue links and hope someone scrolls to you, then clicks.

The new way

AEO

Be the answer itself — so there’s no list to climb and nothing to scroll past.

FAQs happen to be the format answer engines read best. That’s the whole idea behind FaqFlo.

  • SaaSTurn docs and onboarding questions into answers an assistant can quote verbatim.

  • CreatorsBe the source an assistant names, instead of the page it quietly summarised.

  • AgenciesRun the same loop across client sites, with the citations to show for it.

Before you ask

The questions we get most

Written by hand, marked up with FAQ schema — the same thing FaqFlo does for you.

What’s the point of FaqFlo?

To get your business named when someone asks an AI who to hire, and to turn that into work. Being the name in the answer is closer to a referral than an ad — the customer arrives already pointed at you, rather than having to be talked round. Everything else here exists to make that more likely.

What do I actually get?

A plain-English report on whether AI can read your website, the questions customers are really asking about businesses like yours, answers written for you in the form AI tends to quote, and a block of content you paste onto your own site. After that we keep asking the assistants those questions and tell you when your name starts coming up.

Do you write it for me, or do I have to?

We write it. You get the answers drafted for you, and full articles too if you want them — you review, change anything that isn’t right, and paste. You know your business better than we do, so nothing is published without you seeing it.

How much work is this for me?

An afternoon at the start, then very little. The bulk of it is checking the answers sound like you and pasting them onto your site. After that it runs on its own, and the only upkeep is updating a price or a service area when it actually changes. If you would rather not do even that, Pro customers can have us do the whole setup by hand — it’s a paid add-on rather than part of the subscription.

How will I know if it’s working?

We put your questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini on a schedule and record what comes back — whether you were named, whether they linked to you, and which business got the mention when it wasn’t you. It’s the part most people never get to see.

Is it really free to start?

Yes, and no card. The FAQ writer on this page needs no account at all. A free account gets you the visibility report, 5 sets of answers and your first article, so you can see the whole thing work before deciding. Pro is $39 a month.

Do I need a developer?

No, and no plugin either. You get a block of ordinary text-and-HTML and paste it into your site the same way you would add any other content — WordPress, Squarespace, Webflow and Wix all have somewhere for it.

Will this work with my website?

Almost certainly. The one thing worth checking is where the content lands: some site builders tuck embedded code inside a frame that AI assistants read as a separate page, which wastes the effort. We check that for you after you paste and tell you if it didn’t take.

Does the content live on your site or mine?

Yours, always, on your own domain. Hosting it on a FaqFlo address would mean the credit and the customer go to us instead of you, which would defeat the entire point.

What is answer engine optimisation?

It’s making sure AI assistants can find, understand and quote your business when someone asks them a question you could have answered. It isn’t a replacement for search — it’s the same idea in the place people increasingly ask first.
